Candidly, I've been slacking on the whole "blog" thing. It's not that I'm lazy, nor is it that I don't care, its just that my thoughts have been trapped in a weird haze lately, and I haven't been able to vocalize much of anything. You would think I was the one with the canker sore, only...a canker sore for writing...whatever that is. So in an attempt to not completely abandon those readers in NC, NJ NYC...and parts of Europe and Asia, I bring you: Cool things other people are blogging about!!

Reebok has jumped into the Asian kick market (about damn time), and has joined with ST/ART which is rooted in Hong Kong. Of course they are limited edition, and since I've been slacking on posts on sneakers, I figured I'd give you the heads up on these. Cop before someone else gets the jump on them. The Whole Industry Can Hate Me, I Thugged My Way Through

This upcoming week holds a lot of weight for me. I'm going to try and do a little maturing, and finally try to get a job. Pondering the outcome of this week has been consuming a lot of time, so I'm a little light on good ish, but hopefully we can get through this. Also, StrandedinStereo.com has asked me to start contemplating a weekly column topic, so I've been trying to think about that as well. I'll try to focus on blogging first...

Luckily, sneakers always help me come back to earth. Dinosaur Jr. has just gotten a sneaker deal with Nike for some pretty hot kicks. It looks like rap isn't the only genre that is addicted to sole power. There a limited time offer, so you better get to Nike quick if you want to surprise me.

Speaking of addiction, Uk based Addict Clothing is tryin to lock down hip hip-hop fashion for the summer. Graphic print tees designed by known artists is the them of this label, which hopefully translates to the stitching not being the only tight aspect of the clothing.

To add some Tech news to the mix, Wired reports thatWiki founders seem to be in a small tiff about the direction of Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. In true "take my ball and go home" fashion, two members has resigned, frustrated about the future of the organization that recently raised over a million dollars in donations to help support the Wikipedia foundation in their new endeavors.

When She Called My Sneakers Tennis Shoes, I Knew She Was From The West Coast

Yesterday was pretty exhausting. I was en route to CA for the better part of the day( thanks to Ja-Lisa), and was privileged to sit in front of two children who enjoyed pulling my hair while I attempted to sleep. Aside from that, and lack of free wireless interweb in NC, alls good.

For those who are interested in Justin Timberlake, his tour seems to be going quite well. A point of interests is that Timbaland will be doing his own promotional set to get anyone within ear shot hype for his new album Shock Value, which should be out later this year. The album is basically a tribute to Timb's beat skillz and is dedicated toward the progress of "gloabl" music, from Timba's perspective...whatever that means. Their is an article in GQ that provides insight to Walter Mosely's genius, which I read on the plane. Check it out, along with other males fashion insight. It also provides a hint to Justin's new album, which they are working on while on tour.

While I'm out here, I'm going to try and take a look into finding some sneaker inspiration. I want to do something different, and since all I do is gripe about shoes, I feel its time to take some progressive action. Wish me luck, as I peruse the land of slide vans and laced chucks.

Its Not Funny!

Today is bananas-crazy. I'm running all over town trying to secure some last minute items before departure, and also trying not to neglect the schoolwork that has to be turned in...but the latter is not really a priority. Clearly, trying to regain some dependability in the posting regimen is. So a few things before I go scramble all over creation looking for oral b toothbrush heads.

First, let us just get TJ's "I told you so" out of the way. MacRock will not be happening this year, and has been postponed till 2008. Those in charge sent me a message and web link to their updated site, garnished with gorillas, stating that MacRock is on "safari." Which is all well and good, minus the initial heartbreak, but the loading page pretends that there is in fact a MacRock 2007. Rat Bastards. Now we can all just invest our time in either SXSW or Bamboozled. sigh.


Luckily, to balance out this egregious error in the universe of music, Dj Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five are to be inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of fame on March 12. Which is pretty hood. Congrats Ole' heads!






Lastly, ever persistent to find sneakers that I'll drool over but most likely never purchase, I bring you, limited edition Air Maxes! Yes, I already have a pair of custom air maxes, but I'm looking for an excuse to re-up on kicks anyway, so these are the perfect choice. I shotty dibs on the pink ones. No word on when they'll be out, but maybe a quick jaunt to the niketown store in Midtown NYC will keep you privy to the drop date.







Now I must be off. Adventures await. I'm going to try to post from various points in my travels, but after last weekend...don't hold your breath.

Happy New Year! Last night, I helped celebrate one of my good chum's birthdays, which created a multitude of stories. I think I'm going to have to resurrect my old flickr account just to post all the mustached memories. While we were out gallivanting, so many exciting things have happened (and I'm not talking about Britney's hair snafu)! But now is a time for posting, not nostalgia. Onward!

Greedy Genius has released his summer line of better than bathing ape kicks. It makes me wish I had a pay check to waste on them, alas.


Luckily, Nas is going to start his own line of sneakers. Apparently Def Jam is synonymous with sneaker line (Jay-Z). The deal is with 310 Global, the same fine folks to give Game his deal. I find it humorous that the same man who claims hip hop was killed by commercialism feels the need to sell sneakers. We all remember the Esco situation. Or the Peter Victor Rodrigo fiasco...who's name sounds more like an arch-nemesis, more so a fashion designer. I'm not gonna front like I never bought a pair of S.Dots, Jay-z's line, but I will say that Nas had better step up the sneaker game if he's really serious about remaining one of my favorite rappers. I can't be let down

In other concert related news, Busta Rhymes, who was scheduled to play with Jim Jones at University of Maryland Eastern Shore on February 21st, got his concert canceled due to safety concerns surrounding Busta. He's gotten a little to rowdy for his own good. This was probably a good call, due to the fact that Busta doesn't really put out good albums anymore, and stomps on the faces of any fans he happens to retain. Even though, if you have ever been to UMES, you would agree they probably need a good face stompin...ah memories, but I digress.



For those still outraged by the iphone exorbitant costs, the open source community has come to save the day! FIC has announced an on-sale date for its Neo1973, which is cute, and cuddly, and noticeably 300 dollars cheaper than the iphone! It's user modifiable, and comes chock full o' Linux based operating software.


The Ataris shall be playing a show at the TLA on Tuesday. Luckily, JaLisa came through with tickets, and we shall be off on another one of our famed adventures. She's pretty stoked about it, and I'm always down to ride, so it should be a good time. Sadly, this could be one of the Ataris' last studio albums, and perhaps last tour in promotion of such.

Now I must proceed to clean up the lasagna/ sesame chicken crater formally known as my kitchen. I love birthdays! Happy Sunday.

20 Years of Snow

A wintry mix of snow and ice has been doing a tandem soft shoe on my window sill for the past two mornings. I'm usually displeased by the presence of excessive snow,or any snow, but due to the circumstances (getting out of class), I'm not too disappointed.
I am disappointed, however, in the fact that I've had to change to the "new & improved" blogger. I don't like it at all. Not one bit. It's all bling and what have you, and I prefer my basic, no flash included, blogger.
When I was contemplating not updating my blog ever again, I started blog shopping. Looking at blogs that I would like to be like when I grow up. And Fashion was my saving grace. Our saving grace, because I'm sure you would all be devastated if there was no Segue. So today, I shall report on new, warm, spring fashions for men interested in looking as dapper as possible.

Lets start at the toes:
Puma just sent me a catalogue of sneakers made by Mihara Yasuhiro called Far Eastern Soles. If you get gassed off kicks like I do, this is a line you would be interested in. He just published a limited collectors book with the same name (Far Eastern Sole, in case you've forgotten already) which is an superb connect between sneakers & art.





The selection is really awesome, and this picture doesn't begin to encapsulate the size of the collection. It was the best I could do.







Legs:
Pants are trouble. Not exactly the principle behind wearing them, but finding some that fit me that aren't in the women's department, can be tricky. My good friend who has a dearth of knowledge in products has been preaching the positives of Levi's 501 line. He too, is in the skinny kid boat. I was reluctant to jump on the 501 bandwagon because of the financial qualms Levis has been having, but now, it seems they are back in the black, and I can invest my faith in them.








Ideology:
If you are one of those fashonistas, who adopt a style of dress, I can't very well ignore you, so this is for you. Emmett McCarthy, of Project Runway fame, is having a clearance sale (GASP!). If you wish to look toward to future of male fashions, instead of whats in the clearance rack, Carlos Campos may be worth your time. Not too professional, but very stark lines. You'll have to wait till the fall to pick some of up. Hopefully I'll be able to afford some by then.
