Linux Wha?

I've done a couple posts on Linux software in the past, to try and introduce those unaware of its existence. To help illustrate how it is actually used, and that it is not just some pet project for dorks, I present to you: Shrek 3!

Dreamworks, where Shrek was made, is one of the largest commercial users of Linux, with more than 1,000 Linux desktops and more than 3,000 server CPUs. The Linux Journal has the story on all the interesting little aspects of the movie that were made possible by Linux software. I won't bore you with the details, but it's just good to see free software help entertain youths, and empower the wallets of the already financially well off.
