So, peep game. Brooklyn Vegan and the AP broke the story that the first court case in relation to downloading music resulted in Jammie Thomas, 30, being ordered to pay RIAA $220,000! DAMNS. Everyone is pushing the single mother bit, that its unfair that a single income-single mom is now going to have to pay off the RIAA for the rest of her life. I think its just ridiculous that anyone would have to pay this period, let alone a single mommy.
Thomas turned down a several thousand dollar settlement, because she wasn't gonna let the man keep her down...which, in hindsight, looks like a bad career decision. Keep your head up Jammie!
